As part of our Little Dreamers, Big Futures summer campaign and our Real Life Role Models initiative, we had a very special visit from some real-life heroes, our local police officers from Ilford Police Station, part of the Redbridge Defence Team!
The children were thrilled to welcome the officers into the nursery. The officers spoke to them about the important job they do to keep everyone safe and how they help people in our local community every day. The children listened so attentively, full of curiosity and wonder.
The officers even brought along some of the tools they use in their work, including handcuffs, a walkie-talkie radio, and a baton. The children were fascinated by these and asked lots of questions about what each item was for and how it helps the police do their job.
After the indoor session, the excitement continued outside where the children got to explore the police car! The flashing lights and sirens were a huge hit – although very loud, the children were captivated by the sights and sounds. There were smiles all around as they peeked inside the car and imagined what it must be like to be a real police officer.
It was a wonderful learning experience that brought our theme of Real Life Role Models to life in the most exciting way. We are so grateful to the officers for taking time out of their busy day to visit us and inspire our little ones.
The children were so excited and we know this is a memory that will stick with them for a long time!
